Mahabharat-Series(Star Plus)

Hi friends,
I would like to share some of my work which I had done for Maya Entertainment ltd(INDIA)for a TV serial Mahabharat which was aired on Starplus (India).I got the opportunity to create Grand palaces and mythological cities like Hastinapur and Gandahar. We were a small team of three Modeller with couple of juniors to assist us.The major output was suppose to be achieved in realistic textures and less of Modelling. It was an enjoyable and new experience.

  1. Sir, I appreciate your art and I will learn a lot from it. Although I am still a student, I humbly say that the shadows and the saturation of the palace seemed a little too faded! Also the outer walls looked way too clean. It lacked the natural touch in the first palace pic..... and why are the elephant heads so bright? I understand that they r made of gold (bronze is not that bright) but the right hand side elephant head looked a little cartoonish!
I know it is easy to comment, and u might have had time constrains.... it's a beautiful piece of art work, but I believe u could have made it more perfect!

  2. Speaking of the second palace:
    1) Shadows and highlights seems imperfect
    2) No shadows in the garden
    3) Palace is faded, the right hand side looks a little realistic though!
    4) The surface texture of the lion statues in the garden is not visible, thus they look like plastic models and not terracotta or clay!
    5) What is wrong with the central dome!
    6) The inside of the palace is lurking with darkness, gives a dungeonish feeling rather than a luxurious palace experience!

  3. I went through all other art works of yours and loved them so much! I can learn so much from you, sir. I wrote the above comments on the palace arts because I feel that we should recreate the ancient and historical palaces and stuffs more and I took m interested! I know that it takes a lot of time to attain perfection and may be u were not provided the luxury of time while making the palace artworks! Please do not mind my comments!
